City Art Hotel is located in the very center of Ruse, with convenient communications to other parts of town, and right next to the main pedestrian street, the city square, the Municipality, the theater and other administrative buildings.
The hotel offers 19 individually furnished double rooms and one apartment. Each has air-conditioning, shower, blow drier, minibar, telephone, satellite TV, and free wireless internet.
The building is known as the house and work place of Jaque Lazar - a prominent producer of hats. It was built in 1896 following the architectural plan of Udo Ribau, whose architecture is characteristic of the decorative use of bricks and abundant iron cast elements.
The building has been intended as a factory and a store for hats, umbrellas and other accessories and also as the dwelling of the factory employees. It has been used as the setting of several Bulgarian movies among which the emblematic serial "Na Vseki Kilometer" from the 1970's.
