The intention of our site is to reveal the best that Bulgaria has to offer to domestic and international tourists. Bulgaria has a long and well developed coast line, ski resorts, mountain retreats, spa destinations, numerous cultural attractions, monasteries, and many picturesque old towns and villages. While many Bulgarians are familiar with them, many foreign tourists are only starting to discover those destinations.

 

The good news is that the tourism infrastructure has been developed spectacularly fast in the last few years. Hundreds and hundreds of family hotels and guest houses dot the entire country. Similarly, thousands of apartments and houses were built in the last few years. The intention of many apartment and house owners is to rent out their property to tourists at least for some portion of the year. There are great places to stay all over the country, whether one wants to spend a week or two on the beach or to explore the attractions inside the country.

 

Yet, all of those property owners have limited options when it comes to effective advertisement on the Internet. The rental websites in Bulgaria are usually in Bulgarian only and do not give the property owners control over their ads. The international sites, on the other hand, are never in Bulgarian (although most tourists in Bulgaria are Bulgarian) and have scant, if any, information on Bulgaria (which may be fine for an established tourist destination - but not for Bulgaria). 

 

Therefore, we set out to develop RentByOwner, a website where Bulgarian and foreign owners of apartments, houses, small family hotels and guest houses can effectively advertise their properties. We specifically designed a site where owners can create a successful ad that they themselves can manage whenever they want and as they see fit. Vacationers, on the other had can obtain detailed and up-to-date information on accommodations and get a good price by dealing directly with the owners. We translate all ads in Bulgarian and English to connect the domestic tourists with foreign owners and vice versa. And, we market the website widely to the domestic and the foreign markets.

Stafan and Neven Valevi are the owners and founders of RentByOwner. We are brothers and have worked together on a number of projects in real estate development and hotel management. In fact, our work in these industries lead us to the idea for the website.

 

Neven coordinates most of the Internet – based activities of the site. Neven holds a Doctorate in International Economics from the United States, where he lived and taught economics for 17 years. 

 

Stefan coordinates the activities regarding advertising and the management of the regional offices and all else on the ground. He has many years of experience in project development and implementation. His business experience includes the restaurant and hotel business, development business, and facilities management.

 

Bogdan Cenov is the web master of the website. He designed and implemented the structure of the site and continues to work on introducing new functions. He is the owner of a web-design studio with several employees and a large portfolio of projects. 

 

Ivan Conev is our regional representative for the Southern Black Sea coast which included Bourgas, Sunny Beach, Nessebar, Sozopol and many other towns, villages and resorts. Ivan works out of Bourgas.

 

Franziska Bieri works on preparing and editing the content of the website, handles the foreign language correspondence, and works on establishing partnerships with other firms. Franziska is Swiss, with a Ph.D. in International Sociology from Emory University in the United States, and is fluent in German, English, French, Spanish, and Dutch (i malko Bylgarski).

 

Katja Dimitrova is our representative in the South West region of Bulgaria, the location of the three major ski resorts – Bansko, Borovetz and Pamorovo, and numerous other tourist destinations such as Sandanski, Velingrad, Melnik and Shiroka Lyka.

 

Konstantin Konstantinov prepares content for the website such as the destination-specific pages, works on Internet advertising and improving the functionality of the website. He also translates all ads and manages the correspondence with property owners. Konstantin is a recipient of a Presidential (The President of Bulgaria) Diploma for the development of a website for the historic and architectural legacy of the Silistra region in Northwest Bulgaria. 

 

Simeon Vladomirov is our regional representative for the towns, villages and resorts on the Northern Bulgaria Sea coast including Varna, Golden Sands, Balchik and many others. Simeon works out of Varna.

 

Tihomir Terziev is our regional representative for the North Bulgaria region including Veliko Turnovo, Arbanasi, Bojenci, Trjavna, and many other towns and villages. Tihomir works out of Veliko Turnovo.
