History
The village´s name comes from ´Dobri neshta´ (good things) or the gifts that God has given to the people in the form of mineral springs, forests and rivers. The settlement dates from the Stone Age. Many Thracian and Roman ceramic dishes are found in the area as well as coins from the time of emperor Neron (I c. b. c.).
During VII – XIV c. the village was a fortress against the tries of the Byzantine emperors to pass the Mesta River and get to the center of Bulgaria. The village´s inhabitants built a school, organized revolutionary bands and participated actively in the national-liberation fights during the Ottoman Rule.
A revolutionary committee of IMRO (Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization) was created in 1896 under the direction of Gotse Delchev. Here is the hearth of the participant in the first partisan band in Bulgaria – Ivan Kozarev.
